Nate is the product of an abuse cycle which started in childhood. He was taken advantage of by psychiatry. His parents… we wont go there… What we know is that Nate is an example of The Lucifer Effect as so described by Zimbardo in his work on Abu Graib: how good men turn evil… (so called, evil).
Nate was different when we met him 10 years back. Everything was. . .
A creative outcast. A walker seen in Waterville daily. The system sought to reel him in through chemical conversion. By the Winter of 2021, Nate disposed of all his thousand dollar, exotic, hand carved (by self) wood statues. He was prescribed a series of once monthly shots called Invega whose prescription does not match the diagnosis in our long term empirically established perspective regarding his condition. Nate remained bedridden for the better parts of that year and next, disregarding his trips to the dispensary where at, 100’s of dollars worth of prerolls would make their way into a brown paper bag…
Nate was dosed by a local Waterville (in 2021) resident in a town where pedophiles rule and gifted youth are outcasts and are systemically targeted. The substance he was slipped was likely LSD or something Meth related and when we called the hospital to check in on him, we were met suspiciously with defensiveness and anger from some 50-something grunt who must have been his nurse. The hospital was unwilling to update us in an adult manner as to the patients condition and went so far as to claim that Cannabis was responsible for his psychotic episode.
