Patriots Day Protests in Augusta, ME

On Patriots Day 2020, Maine stands up against destructive quarantine measures.

Turn out from the Maine state capitol was noteworthy disregarding blatantly false claims by certain local media attempting to perpetuate a dichotomy. Claims that organizers including the representative Chris Johansen urging followers to wear MAGA hats have been disproved by us here at Anonymous. A great deal of the protestors we filmed were not wearing hats and we interviewed some of the event organizers which can be heard at the end of our video. We reached out to Chris Johansen and his interview can be found further down the article.

At 12:25 into our podcast: “that’s Chris Johansen there!” In the parking lot adjacent to the Blaine House in which our interviews were conducted with some of the organizers.

Below are a list of screencaps displaying how the local media agencies chose to report on the demonstration and a clear agenda to generate a partisan disincentive for economically impacted peoples to join in.

We interviewed the representative who was one of the organizers of the demonstration in Augusta.

Here is that interview

The beginning starts with us asking some non-partisan questions and blasting accusations at the media. Unfortunately that is what came to mind. The conversation resolves into the economic devastation which has followed repressive government measures to contain the virus ubiquitously across a state with a population of 1.344 million (2019) The vast majority of which dwells in the bottom half; the bottom tip of Cumberland county and the Kennebec which Includes the capitol region.

Could we mention the impending homelessness crisis?

Could we mention the illnesses which proliferate on the streets of Americas most dangerous and poverty stricken cities?

As the good man himself said: “some of these businesses will never reopen.”

“They were struggling to make it when this came on…” “They need to eat today!” “…Alot of senior citizens up here…” “…people aren’t gonna have the money to spend…” “…it comes down to not even that it’s just food…” Chris Johansen said.

Dare we imply here at Anonymous that some small communities may become the permanent ghost towns portrayed in the likes of dystopian fiction so displayed in even cities as large as Portland Maine, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic long after the fact?

What is being done to remedy the situation? Can stimulus even make a difference?

Janet Mills has yet to disclose her contingency plan…

Is the current remedy, worse than the illness?

The demonstrators left after only 2pm…
